Scuba Diving Sydney: Plunge Diving: PADI Open Water Course
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
Plunge Diving is the only dive shop located right on the harbour. We have our own private wharf and a beautiful beach and bay at our doorstep.
Our team of instructors are among the most experienced in Australia.
Just underneath our wharf, we have baby yellow box fish, sea horses, sting rays, pygmy leather jackets and so many amazing creatures for you to see.
Come and join our family at Plunge Diving. You'll get hooked.
Included in the course is PADI's new eLearning. Students can do their theory work online which involves videos, graphics, reading, presentations and some quizzes.
Once the eLearning has been completed, it's time to get into the water.
The first session in the water is what we call a confined water session. This is where we teach our students the necessary skills and tricks to scuba diving.
The next two days are filled with 4 open water dives. The students will explore our bay and marine life, practice their skills and then become certified divers.
As an Open Water Diver, you are allowed to dive anywhere in the world up to depths of 18 metres.
In total, we offer you in-home, online learning plus 3 fun days of diving!
Open 7 days. (Closed on public holidays)
The 244 bus runs from Wynyard right to our shop at Chowder Bay.
Each student needs to have a diving medical before they start diving. This can be done at a loca GP. The forms are available on our website.
Mask, snorkel and fins are not included in the price. We value our customers hygiene and comfort and as people tend to spit in their masks as a de-fogging mechanism, we like our divers to have their own equipment. If they don't, they can simply rent some for $50 for the whole course. If they would like to purchase the gear from our showroom, we give our customers that $50 off their purchase.
The minimum age is 12 years old for juniors, and 15 years for the adult certification.
